haiku over 'kopi'

" azured skies by day
cut crystal stars light the nights -
heaven on display "

" my conscious is stirred
by faint light through my window -
a new day begins "

" morning sparrows are skipping
all over the veranda -
leaving wet white trails "

" A new day brings new
wonder and excitement to -
those who adventure "

" Fast the time goes by
flying like there is no end -
will i remember? "

" i just bought a kite,
flying on the beach tomorrow -
aah yes, simple pleasures. "

I have a lot of words on my fridge and it seems to help me start the day with haiku over 'kopi'. I have two sets of mixed "Magnetic Poetry - Haiku Kit set" and "Magnetic Poetry Mixed-Up Movie Lines set" I also installed James Burn haiku widget in my PowerBook.

Japanese haiku have been traditionally composed in 5-7-5 syllables. When people started writing English haiku, they adopted this 5-7-5 form, thinking it created a similar condition for English-language haiku. This style is what generally considered "traditional" English haiku.

Over the years, however, most haiku poets become aware that 17 English syllables convey a great deal more information than 17 Japanese syllables, and have come to write haiku in fewer syllables, most often in three segments that follow a short-long-short pattern without a rigid structure. This style is called by some "free-form" haiku.
