MacMachine Some edited footages I shot during a New York City trip for Human Rights Watch International Film Festival and the New York Asian Film Festival in June 2005. Nearly mugged wandering around. It's a little tribute to this lovely city and people but NOT to Bush and his administration. It got this wonderful creative aura energy that hard to explain. Anyway, this video here will tell on how I felt being in the "City That Never Sleeps". Edited with the background music of U2 from the album "All that you can't leave behind, New York - 2000 ".

Bersih Rally reporter from Al Jazeera won Young Journalist of the Year at the Royal Television Society awards in London

" Hamish covered a Malaysia rally where protesters
were hit by tear gas and chemical-laced water cannon "

Congrats to Hamish, 'nasi kandhar' treat on you. He has been named Young Journalist of the Year at the Royal Television Society awards in London. He beat our other colleague Haru Mutasa as well as Channel 4's Nima Elbagir to clinch the award on Wednesday, hooray for Al Jazeera

Judges commended the Kuala Lumpur-based journalist for his confidence and style, highlighting his work covering street protests 'Bersih Rally' in Malaysia. They also looked at his coverage of the conflicts in Afghanistan and East Timor in awarding him the prize.

Al Jazeera English, on air since November 2006, was also nominated in the News Channel of the Year and International News categories.

The society's awards seek to recognize "creative and excellent journalism" by news organizations whose broadcasts are received in the United Kingdom.

“ Better to be a Pirate than to join the Navy ”

Steve Jobs - Referring to the pirate flag that flew over Apple’s headquaters in 1983. I believe that quote was one of three keyphrases for a large Apple meeting/conference, and the Pirate flag was attached to the Macintosh building after that meeting. So the flag was actually a reaction to that.
