Blogs get people excited. Or else they disturb and worry them. Some people distrust them. Others see them as the vanguard of a new information revolution. Because they allow and encourage ordinary people to speak up, they’re tremendous tools of freedom of expression. Bloggers are often the only real journalists in countries where the mainstream media is censored or under pressure. Only they provide independent news, at the risk of displeasing the government and sometimes courting arrest.

Reporters Without Borders has produced this handbook to help them, with handy tips and technical advice on how to to remain anonymous and to get round censorship, by choosing the most suitable method for each situation. It also explains how to set up and make the most of a blog, to publicise it (getting it picked up efficiently by search-engines) and to establish its credibility through observing basic ethical and journalistic principles.

Jubli Emas Festival Filem Asia Pasifik Ke-50 (FFAP50)

I'm back from "Singa" and preparing for "The Asian Pacific Film Festival, 50th anniversary" on 28 Sept - 1 Oct organize by FINAS, Malaysia (all are well, head-up people).

My thought while reading on the plane back:

"After the world shattering tsunami tragedy of South Asia earlier this year and seeing the unforgettable destruction wrought upon the unsuspecting people of the region, it's not hard to imagine the sheer chaos, sadness and suffering that the residents of Greater New Orleans and the surrounding area are going through at this time in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Many unfortunate people have had their lives tragically and suddenly washed away whilst those that survived are frantically searching for missing loved ones. Our prayers and heartfelt condolences go out to everyone who has experienced loss of family, of home, and livelihood as a result of this calamity. It seems that conflict and natural disasters are occurring around the world in ever greater frequency with a more lasting impact. Few weeks ago a stampede in Iraq claimed upwards of a thousand lives with hospital morgues overflowing with unidentified victims and now Hurricane Rita, a Category 5 (the highest on the scale) will hit along the central Texas coast between Galveston and Corpus Christi this Saturday. We all share a responsibility to try and do whatever we can, however little, to help every victim recover from such devastating events and rebuild for the future - God willing."

in singapore now!

Apologies for the severe slack of updates recently, I’m currently working on a couple of exciting new projects that I’ll be able to tell you more about very soon.

I am in Singapore now to renew my 're-entry' permit for being a 'PR' here. First, get my income tax notice of assessment for the last 3years from IRAS. And than do my application at 'ICA'. This will be done in half a day and I will get the permit stamped on my passport, which will last for another 10 years. Will be here for 2weeks plus or a month, depending on the project. I can spend time with my parent too.
