iPhone in the nude!

Within hours after Apple iPhone went on sale, it has already been cracked open, disassembled and thoroughly analyzed. No surprises inside the case, but if you are into 'techno porn' and wanted to peep the iPhone getting undressed here. (Note: ‘live stream’ link, so it might die in the next few days). The people at PowerBook Medic are putting up a site offering accessories, replacement parts and a "free take-apart manual".

More undressing picture being done by thinksecret.com. Or download a package named ‘iPlayboy’ for the popular, sexy Playboy playmates. This 76MB package includes wallpapers, photos, video and a music track. All the images are non-nude. But they look GREAT anyway!

Samples can be found on there site, for direct download link to iPlayboy.

Quick overview of the basics:
• The iPhone is 4.5x2.4x0.5", and weighs 4.8 ounces (0.3 pounds). For reference, 18 iPhones weigh the same as 1 MacBook Pro.
• The display is 3.5" diagonal, 480x320 resolution. That's 153,600 pixels, or 12% as many as a 15" MacBook Pro.
• The iPhone supports four major different wireless protocols: Quad-band GSM (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz), 802.11b/g WiFi, EDGE, and Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR.
• The iPhone has a 2 Megapixel camera.
• It also has H.264 video decoding, most likely in hardware.
• Huge 3.7 V Li-Ion Polymer battery with Apple model # 616-0290 L1S1376APPC.
• Touch screen control processor. Model numbers: S6087P1, GN03325, 2076A00R, and 1YFZASB3
• The chip on the bottom center that looks blank, actually has this text: MARVELL, W8686B13, 702AUUP. This is Marvell's 802.11b/g 18.4mm2 chip.
Skyworks GSM/Edge Power amplifier (SKY77340)
• The silver chip to the left of the Skyworks chip reads CSR 41814 3A06U K715FB. This is a CSR BlueCore4-ROM WLCSP single chip radio and baseband IC for Bluetooth 2+EDR.
• The chip covered by the white sticker, has the part numbers 338S0289 and 8G60710 on it. EETimes claims this is an Infineon M1817A11.
• The chip with the blue dot on it is rumored to be an Intel 32 MB NOR flash chip. Part numbers 1030W0YTQ2, 5716A673, and Z717074A.
• The chip in the lower right reads 338S 0297 G0719, EL629058S03. Some claim this is an Apple-branded chip, but it's purpose is currently unknown.
• The chip in the lower left is an Infineon PMB8876 S-Gold 2 multimedia engine. Part numbers: 337S3235, 60708, and EL629058S03.
• The chip above the ARM is a Wolfson audio chip. Part numbers WM8758BG and 73AFMN5.
• Samsung manufactured Apple ARM chip. Numbers: 339S0030ARM, 8900B 0719, NOD4BZ02, K4X1G153PC-XGC3, ECC457Q3 716. The processor is likely stacked on the SDRAM, which looks to be 512 MB. This chip could have H.264 and MP3 hardware decoding built in. (what can we do with this baby?)
• The chip underneath the ARM is a Linear Technology 4066 USB Power Li-Ion Battery Charger, which Apple uses in the iPods as well.
• Samsung flash memory chip. BG means 32 Gigabits, the 1 means double that, so that's 64 Gigabits of storage, or 8 Gigabytes. (K9HBG08U1M)
• The phone had about 16 screws in total.

Hacking Iphone (unlocking Info):
• AT&T is the exclusive wireless carrier for iPhone in the US." Apple's iPhone Q&A - you can put in another SIM card, though it won't work. This is good, because it means the lock is somewhere in firmware - the AT&T SIM isn't physically welded or glued into the unit.
• Hackers will first need some sort of hardware or software solution to get at the phone's internal file system, then will need to disassemble key files and figure out what data to change.
• Now, it will probably take a week to unlock the iPhone.
• Anybody wanted to get under the hood of iPhone OS System, firmware can be downloaded here.
• Apple Iphone hackers changing info here at iPhone Dev Wiki (There admin advise not to link directly here, you can reach them on there 'IRC channel' at <'#iphone on irc.osx86.hu >)hackint0sh.org, howardforums.com and other underground hackers site, I won't be surprise if some Mac hackers had already done it in matter of days.

I'm utilizing the net as the only way to acheive that. I discovered a really awesome website which explains how to build solar panels and wind generators. The site explains all the steps involved in solar panel construction.

I'm not really sure about how accurate the information given there is. If some experts over here who have xp with these things can have a see and give your feedback in the site it would be great and I would really value it, because I really lav solar panel construction.

Apple iPhone hacking start today!

As coverage of the iPhone release today on Friday June 29 reaches boiling point, web applications providers are frantically pumping out versions of their applications for the iPhone. Meanwhile hackers are itching to begin probing the upcoming iPhone for security weaknesses and unlocking the device for 3rd party extensions and hacking applications. Hackers also interested on the type of processor that Apple chose to power the new device and what kind of assembly language "shellcode" might work on this chip. I have doubts about a mobile device being based on x86 chip. For me, I'm interested in exploiting areas for Bonjour services, WiFi & unlocking the device so that I can use it with any of my local GSM carriers.

" ahhh...fresh out of the box, get my tools and rip this baby open "

Read here to understand why Apple locked all third party developers out. For iPhone hot topic on the Dailydave discussion list, a widely read forum on security research. Or you can 'iPhonized' your PDA with this mode hacks. If you are looking for a way to see how your web creations will look on iPhone? Look no further... iPhoney gives you a pixel-accurate web browsing environment - powered by Safari - that you can use when developing web sites for iPhone. It's the perfect 320x480 pixel canvas for your iPhone development. And it's free. Watch this space, I will be highlighting more future iPhone Hacks & Tricks.

" if anyone can't wait to have theirs.. there's a pdf to download for fun,
cut-it-out and glue them together, download file here "

For mine, I will wait and buy the second-generation iPhone coming out this fall.

More info on iPhone features: via [ www.thinksecret.com ]

• RSS reader
Apple has developed a web app at reader.mac.com that will bring RSS feeds to the iPhone. Users will be able to add the addresses of news feeds and check on headlines through the Apple-designed RSS aggregator.

• Custom ringtones
Custom ringtones will not be officially supported when the iPhone launches this week.

• SIM card tray
As has been previously disclosed, the iPhone's SIM card tray is located at the very top of the device and can be removed using a paper clip. iPhone owners will be able to use any AT&T SIM card in the tray, though the card will need to be activated through iTunes before using. Apple will recommend that customers use the SIM card that will ship with the iPhone.

• iCal integration
iPhone owners will be able to use the device to view multiple calendars synchronized from iCal. However, any events created on the iPhone will be added only to a single calendar. (Changes made to existing events will remain in their assigned calendar.) To add an event to another calendar, users will have to move the event on the desktop.

• iTunes 7.3
Apple has disclosed that the iPhone will require iTunes 7.3. While the update won't contain any significant Mac functionality, it will include Sync Services and Mobile Device Syncing on the Windows side.

• Operating System size
When formatted, the 8GB iPhone will have about 7.24GB of free space. The device's OS will take up about 300MB. Updated: In an effort to clarify where the "other" 440MB of space goes if an 8GB iPhone is left with 7.26GB, it is important to remember that Apple defines 1GB as 1,000,000,000 bytes, as most disk manufacturers do. Operating systems, the iPhone's included, correctly define 1GB as 1,073,741,824 bytes. Thus, an "8GB" iPhone really only has "about" 7.5GB of usable space. The OS occupies "about" 300MB, leaving an 8GB iPhone with 7.24GB of free space.

• Using EDGE during phone calls
Sending an email or using Safari over the EDGE network will not be available while making a phone call; if you send an email, it won't send until after the call has ended. Such applications can, however, take advantage of Wi-Fi networking to use the Internet while placing a call.

• Antenna
The iPhone's antenna is located in the back part of the phone at the bottom, where the unit is colored black.

• Conference call
As previously noted in reviews, the iPhone's conference call feature holds up to six callers, including yourself. You will also be able to talk privately with an individual member of the conference while the other four are on hold; during this time, the other four can still talk to each other.

• Copy and paste
Published reviews have correctly reported that you will not be able to copy and paste on the iPhone. However, notes can automatically be sent from the Notes application to Mail.

Meanwhile, sources have disclosed that Apple's miniscule Bluetooth headset will sell for $129, while a deluxe dock that includes a built-in port for charging the headset alongside the iPhone will set you back another $49.

For iPhone buyers who want all the fixings, that brings the total out of pocket cost to about $777, plus tax, if one picks up the 8GB model.

In addition to the improved dock, the $49 deluxe dock will include a special travel iPhone connector cable that includes a port for charging the Bluetooth headset, so travelers will only need to tote one cable to charge both devices.

artistic arabic graffiti messages on Bahrain wall

Collection of 37 images from a graffiti competition in Bahrain. Surprisingly naive and colorful. You can recognize various influences, like cubism and abstract expressionism but it is quite coherent in style. Graffiti can communicate social and political messages. For some, it is an art form and even galleries mount such exhibitions. The collection below emphasizes artistic graffiti. Enjoy this visual!

" this is a verse from the Quran. It reads: "There is no compulsion in religion",
or more accurately: "No one should be forced to change his/her faith".
I like the font it is in (a variant of naskhi?). "

" (the old man writing) says : "From cradle to grave", and alludes to a old Islamic saying :
"Seek knowledge from the cradle to the the grave".
It is attributed to the prophet Muhammad "

"mother of all genocide" in western democracy

" The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has been
given the green light by the Bush administration to
carry out an “information war” against several states
in the Middle East, including Iran, Lebanon ... "

There is a genocide going on today under the disguise of 'Democracy'. It has gone on for 515 years, since Columbus entered the Mexican shore in the so called "new world". It is the western imperialistic and colonial system, who since have ruled, robbed and slaughtered the rest of the world in quest for resources that belonged to the poor. This is mother of all genocide that makes the other smaller genocides look like a fight in the boys scout(I am a scouty..yay).

Greed is driving it. First came Latin-America, later Asia and Africa.

Because of oil, todays war and killing brought it to the rest of Middle East.Of course the west uses all the euphemisms (PR machinery) available to disguise what has been going on, and still goes on. Occupation is called "liberation","bringing democracy", "civilizing", "liberal intervention". The resistance to the illegal occupations have up through the years been called "extremists","terrorists" and the like. So you get a new euphemism (PR machinery) to use. Rewrite the situation and start calling invasions and occupations "war on terror" The poor western public lives their lives under these euphemisms (PR machinery).

Please read:

2. Washington’s secret war against Tehran

beautiful arabic calligraphy for graphic design and branding

I'm so fascinated by Arabic script. It's out of this world. Arabic calligraphy is a form of art that has superseded any other culture in its category. It's highly complex and has many layers of meaning. I won't go into details here, but for more info on Arabic Calligraphy and Typography click to www.sakkal.com.

" one of my favorite calligraphy artwork "

" This style, called zoomorphic calligraphy and some believe
it's developed because of the restriction of illustrating
living beings according to Muslim traditions. "

" Highly popular style where script are carefully layed out in miniature text
makes up of bigger sentence. Both the small and big text
are related and usually verses from the The Qur'an. "

" This showcase an ancient manuscript from Iraq.
Note that in those times using black and red inks to write was a must.
Later the red dots were replaced with other symbols that need not to be red. "

" Modern script that can be found on contemporary buildings in Arab World.
This example is a piece from a long text that goes all around the
building in Dubai. Note the geometric simplicity of the script. "

Arabic script and arabesque design are largely ignored outside the Middle East. Unlike many other languages that are used extensively as design elements even in the West, but Arabic didn't enter the mainstream culture. Japanese, Sanskrit characters and others are being use as t-shirts/popular graphic designs etc. Main reason why Arabic calligraphy didn't penetrate the pop culture, because it's very closely associated with religion and the usage of these styles may be a sensitive issue.

This is unfortunate, because Arabic calligraphy has a beautiful texture, which can be appreciated even if you don't read the text. However...for us Muslims, the script means so much more than just pretty design. The Qur'an and style of text are holy and there is no room for reinterpreting these visual elements modestly. The best calligraphers in the world today are mostly Turkish. But we do have great designer with good capability to provide contemporary Arabic/Modern design solutions.

Meet my respected friend Ghiath Lahham of www.ghiathlahham.com. Base in Dubai-UAE, he has been primarily engaged in the development of identity solutions for leading regional organizations. Formerly from GSCS Dubai, his work has been seen around the world, as he created the brand for Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts, one of the world's most luxurious hotel groups. He also created identities for Royal Jet, Nakheel, and other notable companies.

"note the Arabic words symbolize as a bird/duck.
visit www.nakheel.com "

I got this cool Arabic New York T-Shirt (now it's old and holy, but am still wearing it) on my last trip there around Atlantic Ave area, a section of Brooklyn. It a "mixed Arab" community area with quirky Arabs shops & cafes which I love exploring. I bought it because it amusing seeing Arabic calligraphy look so westernized. The most fascinating thing about this typo-calligraphy though is the font, created... almost like Latinized funkified Arabic, which is not something I've seen before. Now you can order them online from www.elsewares.com. I think the 'Arabic brand' already been known internationally now, just look at Al-Jazeera TV and Al-Jazeera magazine.

“ Better to be a Pirate than to join the Navy ”

Steve Jobs - Referring to the pirate flag that flew over Apple’s headquaters in 1983. I believe that quote was one of three keyphrases for a large Apple meeting/conference, and the Pirate flag was attached to the Macintosh building after that meeting. So the flag was actually a reaction to that.
